28 people, one as young as 4 years old, were injured yesterday during the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans. Police arrested a driver, suspected to have been heavily intoxicated, 25 year old Neilson Rizzuto.
Thankfully there have been no fatalities despite the large injury count, probably due to the self-saving reactions of the crowd. Rizzuto allegedly hit two vehicles before plowing into the crowd and we believe the couple of seconds warning the noise and shock of those crashes provided allowed innocent party-goers vital moments to react.
